Mother Earth and Her Children - A Quilted Fairy Tale

This beautifully illustrated book brings to life a modern quilt inspired by Sibylle von Olfers’ classic storybook Mother Earth and Her Children. Through rich, intricate artwork and a vibrant new translation, the story delicately explores the changing seasons and the circle of life.As Mother Earth calls her children to prepare for spring, the little earthly children stretch and yawn before tending to the creatures and blossoms around them. They dust off bumblebees, scrub beetles, paint bright coats on ladybugs, and awaken caterpillars from their cocoons. Emerging as spring flowers, they frolic through summer and autumn until the leaves fall, returning to Mother Earth and guiding the weary bugs and beetles to their winter refuge. Full of imagination, color, and seasonal wonder, this book celebrates nature, renewal, and the joy of life’s cycles.
